Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about the world, story, and gameplay of Legacy of Two.
Story & Setting
Is the story fully linear?
No. Your choices shape how Kaelen and Mira uncover the Eldaran ruins. Dialogue options, puzzle solutions, and exploration order all branch the narrative. Some paths lock out certain discoveries, so replaying reveals new layers of the mystery.
Gameplay
How do puzzles work?
Puzzles are tied to ancient Eldaran mechanisms—light refraction, sound resonance, and glyph matching. Each puzzle has multiple valid solutions, and the method you choose can alter the story context or unlock hidden lore entries.
Characters
Can I switch between protagonists?
Yes. You control both Kaelen and Mira at different points. Their separate perspectives reveal conflicting accounts of the same events. Later chapters let you decide whose lead to follow, affecting the final resolution.
World & Lore
Is the world based on real history?
It draws inspiration from ancient Mediterranean and Near Eastern civilizations, but the Eldaran culture, its language, and its downfall are entirely fictional. The game includes an in-game archive where you can read translated tablets and field notes.
Technical
What platforms is it on?
Legacy of Two launches on PC (Steam) and Nintendo Switch. A PlayStation 5 version is planned for later this year. The game supports controller and keyboard-and-mouse input.
Accessibility
Are there difficulty options?
Yes. You can adjust puzzle complexity, enable hint markers, and toggle auto-save frequency. There is also a story mode that removes time-sensitive choices, letting you explore at your own pace.
